Born in Dublin , David Stephenson has exhibited in the Gallery of Photography, Dublin, the National Portrait Gallery, London, the Angela Flowers Gallery, London, Art House, Dublin, the Sligo Art Gallery, Sligo, the Bank of Ireland Arts Centre, Dublin, the Alternitave Entertainment Gallery, Tallaght, Dublin, The Hunt Museum, Limerick and The National Museum in Kigali, Rwanda. He has been commissioned by the Aid agencies, Trocaire and Self Help International and the Irish fairtrade coffee company, Java Republic, to photograph in Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Zambia, Kenya, Kosovo, Rwanda, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. His work has been published in local, national and international newspapers, as well as magazines and art journals. He is currently working on a project called 'Meantime', about two traveller famiies, there is a feature in the Spring, 2009 edition of The Irish Arts Review about this work.
